Metropolitan Life - Represented the Florida Department of Insurance, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and the Florida Attorney General in an investigation into the national sales practices of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.

Milken Global Settlement Fund - Appointed by Senior United States District Judge Milton Pollock of the Southern District of New York to a five-member committee charged with evaluating and resolving the worldwide claims, collectively in excess of $1 billion, against a fund arising from a settlement of the Milken Securities litigation.

WorldCom f/k/a LDDS Metromedia Communications - Defended the chief executive officer of ComSystems, Inc., a WorldCom company, seeking compensatory damages in excess of $25 million for alleged federal securities violations arising out of complex financial transactions involving stock options and various classes of preferred stock.

ESM Government Securities Litigation - Served as SEC equity receiver and United States Bankruptcy Trustee for a failed brokerage house in a $340 million government securities fraud involving repurchase and reverse repurchase agreements.

Southeast Bank Litigation - Represented one of Florida's most prominent law firms in a legal malpractice action brought by the bankruptcy trustee for the bank holding company and arising from the acquisition of a savings and loan.

AON Corporation - Represented AON Corporation in a successful action to recover millions of losses from unauthorized trades in derivatives.

City of Miami - Defended the City of Miami in an SEC proceeding against the City alleging securities and accounting fraud in three of the City's bond issues.

John Alden Insurance Company - Defended as co-counsel John Alden Insurance Company and certain officers and directors in a federal securities class action arising out of allegedly false financial statements and medical claims reserves.

FPA Securities Litigation - Currently defending the Chairman of the Board in a class action, two large group actions, and an SEC and related grand jury investigation arising out of the bankruptcy of a large California healthcare firm.

FPL Group, Inc. - Represented the outside directors in a derivative suit seeking $60 million arising from a change-of-control payment to senior officers of a major utility.

Served as bankruptcy trustee and as receiver for the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Served as counsel for bankruptcy trustees and receivers of the SEC, the CFTC, the Florida Division of Securities, and the Florida Department of Insurance.

Mr. Tew has testified before the United States Senate Permanent Sub-Committee on insurance company insolvencies, moderated a panel on Thrift and Bank Officer and Director Liability, and has testified before the United States House of Representatives on five other occasions regarding securities and insurance fraud.
